FEBRUARY 19, 2010: Winnipeg’s TransX Group of Companies, Canada’s largest, privately owned transportation provider, has been named the national Carrier of the Year by Walmart Canada. Walmart Canada presented the award to TransX recently in Mississauga at the Walmart Gala Carrier Awards dinner in recognition of the company’s 99.3% on-time record in excess of 89,000 shipments. “We’re proud of our many employees who truly deserve this recognition for leading by example in the industry,” said Louie Tolaini, President of the TransX Group of Companies. Headquartered in Winnipeg, Tolaini said Walmart is a valued partner to TransX and he thanked them for recognizing the efforts of his team. Andy Ellis, Senior Vice President, Supply Chain & Logistics for Walmart Canada described TransX as an “outstanding partner” who “through collaborative efforts helped train other Walmart carriers in Ontario for the forthcoming LCV (Long Combination Vehicle) program, resulting in improved customer service and efficiency.”
